Past
In the beginning…at the time of the Big Bang described in physics…the one true living Lord God Almighty created the heavens and the earth…the universe…and all things in it…all things natural and all life forms, including mankind. God also created supernatural beings…angels…the most beautiful of whom was known as Lucifer. Lucifer, not satisfied with being the most beautiful of God’s creations betrayed the Lord God…attempting to supplant Him and become god himself…resulting in his being cast from Heaven and from thence on being known as Satan. He took with him one third of the angels, now known as demons.
The creation of man occurred six days after the big bang and approximately 6000 years ago. That first man was called Adam and was created from the earth by God. From him, God created the first woman, Eve, to be Adam’s partner and mate. For some time, they lived in a paradise on earth called the Garden of Eden, located somewhere in what we now know as the Middle East. In it all things were given but the fruit of one tree, containing the knowledge of good and evil. Satan deceived first Eve, then she Adam, into eating this forbidden fruit. This was the origin of Sin, our separation from God, and the entry point of evil into the lives of mankind. As punishment, God cast Adam and Eve from the Garden, condemning them to death after a life toiling for survival on Adam’s part and painfully bearing the next generation on Eve’s. This is the curse all mankind lives under to this day.
Adam and his descendants rapidly urbanized and the wickedness of mankind…blindly pursued the pleasures of this world…rapidly accelerated. Ultimately, God was so displeased with His creation that he destroyed the world with a great flood. One righteous man, Noah, his three sons, and their wives, were instructed to construct an ark, enabling them to survive the flood. Noah and his three sons are the ancestors of mankind as we know ourselves today. After the flood, man again rapidly began to turn away from God, substituting his own knowledge and gods of his own creation, know as idols. Settling in the area known as Babylon, in the country we now know as Iraq, man again urbanized and set out to build structures into the heavens…not unlike Satan’s quest to ascend to God’s seat…and again God was displeased with his creation. Instead of destroying mankind again, He opted to destroy the structure, known as the Tower of Babel, and confuse us with multiple languages, dispersing mankind across the earth. From these descendants of the sons of Noah…Shem, Ham, and Japeth…arose the civilizations and nations of the world as we know them from ancient history.
Around 2000 BC and 2000 years after Adam’s fall, God selected a man, Abraham to father his chosen people. Abraham had two sons, Issac and Ishmael. Issac had a son, Jacob, the father of twelve sons that became the heads of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. It is rumored that Ishmael was the patriarch of the Arab people, although I am unaware of biblical evidence to that fact. Regardless, God chose the line of Abraham, Issac and Jacob to father is nation. These people, known as the Hebrews, or the Jews, were promised the land of Canaan, in the area we now know, not coincidentally, as Israel, but were not allowed to occupy it immediately. Abraham was born in Mesopotamia, the region around Babylon, still the great center of human civilization at that time, and was instructed to journey West. He settled in the area of Canaan, but before the nation was established, his great-grandson Joseph was sent to Egypt, where his brothers ultimately followed him. For several hundred years, the Hebrew people lived in Egypt…at first with privilege but ultimately as slaves.
